Blah Week

By • October 5, 2008

This week sucked, it really drained the life and motivation right out of me. Next week probably won’t be much better in terms of getting work done on ToI, but we’ll see.

On the left, we have the Guild Quest window looking nice and organized thanks to Kingcom. On the right, the main thing we wanted to show off was something that most people might not even notice. Normally, even at style level 50, there was a small icon that said SP. Obviously after reaching level 50, there is no more SP, so we decided to remove that icon. (Mastering styles takes FOREVER!)

There is one translation-related change I want to mention. Sian’s name has been corrected and is now Chien. As the reincarnation of Cerberus, Chien always appears alongside two dogs, Cer and Ber. So why Chien? It’s French for dog. Seems more like what they were going for, right? Most of the other changes have been fairly subtle, but I thought that one was worth mentioning to people so I don’t get complaints about “changing it” later. My first editing process is still ongoing and well, it’s going. Until next time…

  1. Well, first of all, I wanna say thanks, this project is fantastic, and so is your work. That being said, would you ever be interested in translating tales of the tempest after this?I believe it is also a nice game, and most tales fans would love it, plus(and I’m not sure of that, but that’s wha I heard), it seems to be a relatively small game.If not would you know of any group translating it?

    Thanks again for everything.

  2. I’d like to say thanks as well. πŸ™‚ I’m a huge Tales fan, and recently imported Innocence in anticipation of your hack (also got Tempest, since it was such a cheap game to import). Take your time, if it takes a bit longer to finish your hack, that’s ok.

  3. hey chap, glad I’ m not the only one who had a sucky week πŸ˜›

Keep up the good work!!!!! Love your project man.

  4. Uh… Diego, you know you can’t apply the hack to a physical copy of the game, right? You’d apply it to a ROM and play it on your computer or put it on a flashcard.

  5. It’s always good to take a break, awesome screenshots, and on top of that, you gys are adding stuff to it, man that’s awesome, props man, great job, and don’t get discourage.

  6. zomg even styles in this tales game :O Great job mate keep it up1 πŸ˜€

  7. @Conn

Yes, I do…I have a backup of my copy on mu computer…
I just don’t know why you said that, but, thanks for trying to help anyways ^^/

  8. I think Conn was really talking to Ian, s/he just got the names confused.

  9. How many % is done? youre doing amazing.

  10. Keep up the good work!

  11. Good job! You’re doing great… keep it up! πŸ˜€

  12. hah, sorry Diego, I misread.

  13. Wow, amazing work again. Keep it up guys. I know you are getting drained and I’m sure all of us will understand if you have to take some time off. Just don’t let it die ^_^

  14. You are awesome and cheer up: There’ll be better times^^

  15. keeeeeeeeeeeeeep it up man πŸ˜‰

  16. In the first screen there is the word “Lu” next to the world “Luca”, in the bottom screen. Is that a glitch?
    Looking nice though πŸ™‚

  17. I wonder what if (very improbably) suddenly Namco decided to translate the game, mate? What will you feel about it, after those many hours you spent doing this project? Though IMO they won’t ever translate this great game. But I wonder how you will feel.

  18. @Glenn: The Lu is not a glitch. We’re going to put the names on the bottom screen in that style, we just hadn’t finished doing so yet. So that screen is still halfway in-between.

@Henson: I’d be thrilled, it would save me a lot of work. I’ve enjoyed the time that I’ve put in on the game, so I would never consider it a waste of time.

  19. The project seems to be going smoothly! I’m not sure on what to say, I just want to tell you that the project is awesome, it would make a lot of people very happy, and…!! Keep it up!! But of course, take your time because no one is a work machine.

  20. Take a break if you need to. Don’t wanna run out of steam already. Anyway, progress is still progress and I think from the looks of it you’re still moving along at a mighty fine pace. γŒγ‚“γ°γ¦γγ γ•γ„γγ€‚(^w^)b

  21. can’t wait! πŸ™‚

  23. the translation process looks so professional, have you guys received offers to work for a game translation company? seriously, it looks like an official translation from the screenshots, it looks so natural.

  24. Sucks to hear that your week was bad. Hope the better end of it comes soon for you. Take your time buddy, no need to rush. A lot of us are grateful for what you’re doing. And like always, your work still looks very professional to this point. Keep up the awesome work.

  25. well, just pop in to say, good luck with the project, and if it really drains too much of your life energy, take a break, =D Don’t worry about us or others who might be asking u to hurry up =D
