Admit it, you didn’t think we were going to make it, did you?
Well, we did! Yay! I enjoyed reading the comments from people who were upset about us not releasing the patch in June without even telling you why. As it turns out, we didn’t explain why we were delaying the release because we were not delaying the release. As with many things, June ain’t over ’til it’s over. So there you have it.
Please do read the README since it includes the patching instructions. This post will be relatively short since I know most people just want to play the game.
There is always room for improvement when it comes to projects like this. I know that’s a weird thing to say when I’m releasing something that I’m truly proud of, but I genuinely believe that I could spend another year working on this patch and probably make changes constantly. We’re at the point where we’re ready to draw the line and call it finished. That was our real purpose in setting the June deadline. We needed to have one. As much as perfectionists like Kingcom and myself hate to admit it, perfection is not a reasonable goal. We put in thousands of man-hours on this project and we are ready to send it out to the world. So with no further ado, Kingcom and I are proud to present the Tales of Innocence English translation patch.

ATTENTION EVERYONE: THE OPENING SUBTITLES IN ALL CAPS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE WRITTEN BACKWARDS! THE JAPANESE LYRICS ARE SUNG BACKWARDS DURING THOSE PORTIONS OF THE SONG!

Loving the game so far, just in Galpos working on getting to Guild Rank 6. Love the game, dungeons are a bit tedious because they’re more maze-like than puzzle related like in other Tales games, but it’s still awesome, loving the story.
Thanks so much throughhim413, you did an absolutely fantastic job. I’ve seen worse translations on official releases of games with less text. The Harvest Moon series in particular, heh.
Hey throughhim413, i played about 10 hours and so far its been great, but i have to inform you about a translation error. Its not really an error, its just when they are in the tomb before the battle with Chitose, someone (forgot who) says a sentence in which describes a portrait on the wall (theres 2 before the fight). In that sentence, it says pray god, instead of pray TO gods. Not sure if this is an error or not but im just wondering since it caught my eye. Anyways great work with the patch

Now that you guys have managed to make a translated patch for this game, after a break, do you guys think you could make a translation patch of Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology 2?
Nope. We’re not interested in working on Radiant Mythology.
Aw man… another group that won’t do it… oh well, gotta keep studying that Japanese so I can find a group that will.

wow, i’m a few hours into the gameeeee, and i love the translation.. i can’t believe you actually translated everything! thats true dedication right there. i haven’t experienced any problems with the game on akaio 1.6. i’m really glad you guys finished this game.. i’ve been waiting for a tales game, that was english to hit the ds, & you answered my calling. excellent job with the game Throughhim413, Kingcom & the rest of absolute zero translation team

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! I remember pining away all the time I was on vacation because I forgot to bring a card reader with me so I could add this translation. Then on the last day of my vacation, I found one.

Hi, I don’t know if anyone else has had this problem, but when I use the Mac program you provide a link to. It wont work for me. It just opens the program in text edit. Terminal wont even accept the program. What should i Do?

i think a thank you isn’t enough for someone that dedicated two years of time for a single game, i mean this is the best thing ever for ds owner out there!! unfortunately my ds phat died last christmas and here i am surprised and cursing at the same time now the patch is finally finished. guess time to look a decent ds emulator out there!!!

I bought the ds game back when I was in japan a couple years ago, I beat it, but unfortunately I only understood about 2/5th of the game’s story, cause mymoon speak is not top notch, but I will definitely be dusting off this game and playing it again now that there is a translation out, tanks for doing what the big companies would never think of and pleasing the fans

It’s a shame, though. I use an R4i Gold with the most recent firmware. I am patching everything correctly, and when I start up the game, all I get is a white, blank screen. I even tried patching a rom from another site and the same thing happened. Can anyone help me? I’ve been waiting too long for this to happen. D:
