So it looks like 2013 is drawing to a close. I guess it’s already over for some people. Where did the time go?

I unfortunately failed to meet the short-term goal that I’d set for myself with Hearts. For whatever reason, things never seem to go quite like I’d hope. December was a crazy month and I really didn’t get much done. The initial stretch of January is going to be a bit crazy too. Nonetheless, I have made a good bit of progress on Hearts recently and (I think) things are looking up. My goal is to finish translating Hearts in 2014. Yeah, I said it. No doubt people who have been following the project for a few years will laugh at the idea that I’ll suddenly start making actual progress, but know that I am working on it with that goal in mind. It’s certainly a stretch, but I’m going to give it my best shot. Kaji has been continuously sharing his latest and greatest additions to the Tales of Hearts: Translator’s Cut Reimagination for iOS. I would explain some of that to you if I actually understood myself. Kaji is definitely doing many things, that much is clear.

I haven’t done a whole lot on Tales of Phantasia or NDX lately, but Kingcom has been working his usual magic behind the scenes. Our next update will probably show off some of the awesome stuff he’s done so far. With pictures. Or maybe video. I don’t know yet.

Regardless, this coming year is going to be a great one for Tales fans. We’ve got our first official dual audio Tales coming at the end of February in Tales of Symphonia Chronicles. The sequel to Tales of Xillia will be arriving in the West later in the 2014.  And amazingly, a worldwide release has been announced for Tales of Zestiria. I’ve said it before, but it’s a great time to be a Tales fan! See you all next year!

  1. Take your time. It’s not like anyone’s paying you to do it. However, if you were to set up a donation site, I’d be more than glad to contribute if it meant this game would be gone quicker.

  2. *done

  3. Indeed, 2014 is going to be a great year for us Tales of fans!

Thank you for all your completed projects so far and keep up the good work for this year! =)

PS: I plan to play Tales of the Tempest this year, wish me luck!

  4. Yeah..you guys shouldn’t RUSH the Tales Of Hearts translation, but I’m still impatient enough to say that picking up the pace would be nice.
I can see BIG things for this page/translation group sometime soon.
The Tales Of franchise is RAPIDLY gaining fame these days and A LOT of gaming networks are beginning to notice the brilliant work coming from you guys.
I suggest that you guys start on Narikiri Dungeon X after the Tales Of Hearts completion.I’m not demanding,I’m just recommending.
The multiple reasons why NDX is the best game to go with next?
1: A LOT of people have PSP’s these days.

2: Some of the methods used for your complete translation of Tales Of Phantasia could be traced for NDX (since they were both made for the PSP).

3: The count of PS2 users have dipped a WHOLE lot lately (ever since the PS4 came out and PS3 prices dropped).Tales Of Destiny would be REALLY hard on most people who still DO have a PS2 anyway because of the fact that the DOWNLOAD of the hacked/translated FILE kinda demands some form of PS2 modification (such as the burning of a the game onto a disc).
Yeah…I’m sure that A LOT of people would wan to experience Destiny on an ACTUAL PS2
Keep up the good work guys..you just may get way further than most would imagine…and remember..NDX is the next best thing to patch after Hearts.

  5. Yeah, 2014 will be great for Tales fans because of this:

Tales of Symphonia Chronicles will be released 2014.
Tales of Xilia 2 will be released 2014.
The Tales of Vesperia translation project will likely be finished 2014.
And there is a chance Tales of Hearts will be finished 2014 as well.

So we potentially get 4 new Tales games this year!

  6. This is definately going to be a great year for RPG’s. I’m looking forward to whatever comes.

  7. @Pokemon

It would be best for AZ to finish Phantasia first because

    A: it happens before NDX

B: some people would be confused with the presence of Rondoline

Anyway, you are awesome Through. Your dedication to Tales is what really got me into the franchise, so good job and keep up the good work.

  8. YAAAAAAAAY for Dual Audio, finally! Thanks Baba-san!

  9. @minohoro

How would it be best for him to finish Phantasia first? Go play the PS1 version, there’s nothing wrong with it.

  10. I would like to thank you guys for your works! If wasn’t you, I wouldn’t have played Tales of Innocence or Tales of The Tempest! =D

  11. You’re a great guy, thanks for all your work.

  12. @mike

    I have though. 🙂

I’m talking mainly about Rody in this case. If people played only Phantasia PS1, they would see Rody as just some random stranger out of nowhere.

I wasnt insulting the ps1, I’m just saying its best we see the psp version first.
