The Post of the Beginning and the End

By • April 18, 2007

In the Final Word section of the translation, I wrote the following. I can say it no better a second time, so here you have it:

“I am now posting this, the Final Version of my translation for Tales of Phantasia PSX/PSP. It’s been a long trip, though only a few good friends know exactly how long. Guys, thanks for putting up with all of the ToP talk for all this time. This is a project that I loved from beginning to end. I’ve enjoyed every bit of it, but at the same time, I’m ready to put it down and walk away. There are still things that I could have, wanted to, or thought about changing. There will always be lines that I’ll read and think ‘I could have phrased that better’. There will always be the temptation to go and change this or that. But with this release, I am satisfied. Not to say that it is perfect, but simply that I can step back and for the first time, be proud of what I’ve done. This is only the first in what I hope will be many accomplishments of this kind.

One thing I hope is that as people who have read this translation, that you will give me some feedback. Not just if you liked it or not, what could have been better? I did this as a fan of Tales of Phantasia, but I don’t want my progress in translating to stop at this level. I want to hear what people think of this, so please, don’t hesitate to offer up some opinions.

So the final word? This translation may be over, but for me, it’s just the beginning. Now get out there and play. TFR.”

Tales of Phantasia – The Complete Translation can now be found on the Tales of Phantasia Translation Page.
