I don’t want anyone saying I wasn’t up front about things.
Pushing this patch out by the end of summer would be rushing it too much. Don’t bother asking about it. I have learned my lesson – giving people a date only gives them an excuse to whine about it. It was stupid of me to provide a date, and that’s why I won’t be providing one any more. So the new release date is going to be everyone’s favorite “it’ll be done when it’s done”. If you are willing to wait and want to continue to follow the project, awesome. If you have lost all faith in me, feel free to leave. I will not ask you to stay. We’ve been working on this project for one year and still people complain about how long it has taken. Many projects have taken much longer. It’s ridiculous that people are unable to wait even that long for something that costs them nothing. All you have to do is sit there. That is all I’m asking anyone to do.
Just because I’m not telling anyone my intended release date doesn’t mean that the pace of the project will change, it just means that it’s no longer public information. My eyes remain focused on the quality of the project. The goal is in sight, but I’m not going to sacrifice my standards for speed. When the day comes to release the patch, I will be able to proudly present it to everyone. Until then, I thank you for your patience.

Well… u guys do take a long time, then again translating all those skits and such does take a really long time. I just wish u’d at least release a patch that gives u somewhat of a translation, but since ur aiming for a complete perfect translation… guess that wont happen. Just take ur time… the end result is what matters the most.

I’m not sure that we do take a long time though. Look at other fan translation projects. Most go on for quite some time. Not all, of course, but I think our project is about average for projects of comparable length.
This translation is going MUCH faster than any translation projects I’ve seen in the past! I have the question though, is there any chance of releasing a patch before you finish translating the skits? I know there are some people (like myself) who usually ignore them. Perfectly understand if you don’t want to release anything incomplete though.
@Teago: Yeah, I’m subscribed, but I like to keep as few things up on mine as possible, so I prefer email lists for things I’m waiting to be complete, like translation patches. But RSS works.
I think every one knows dis, but they are impatient wich means there to exited bout this project to tell u truth im also impatient but knowing a release date wont make waiting faster in fact it will make it slower(sounds weird) how ever i can wait cause its not like u guys are getting profits out of it so take as longest u want

I believe it’s safe to assume it’ll be out this year based on the progress on the main ToI page. But that’s still based on his discretion, And when he has the free time to work on it.

IT WOULD SAVE THEM HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS HAVING A NEW TEAM LOCALIZE EVERYTHING, AND WOULD JUST NEED VOICE ACTORS. SELL IT TO THEM, MAKE LOTS O’ MONEY, AND PAY OFF COLLEGE TUITION. Hmm, i had an idea, but it wouldn’t do anything for those using a PC Emulator… I was gonna’ say, why not put in a toggle switch for the backlight in the options menu, but that would be kind of difficult wouldn’t it? And the fact that most people here might be using a PC emulator would be troubling…
u know bob thats the stragest thing i have this neat little section in my cheat codes on my emulater listed as *Backlight Codes* which is totaly pointless
It’s virtually pointless on PC Emulator because computer monitors are their own backlights…
Well, at least I don’t have to wait too long. I just found this site a week or two ago and I can wait a month or two.
For starters, at least the man’s DOING stuff. The other ToI translations stopped at the translating of the menu. That’s all.
Props to this dude for actually doing up EVERYTHING(or at least, is in the process of doing so) I’ll be extremely grateful for the storyline and skits too!

i only came up with this because the damn backlight drives me nuts…
My flashcart has a menu that can be accessed in-game and allows you to change the backlight settings. I assumed it was a standard feature, but I guess I assumed wrong.
You have my support all the way! I wait with baited breath for the release, whether it takes 1 year or 100.
At least the DS works well in direct sunlight though… Damn PSP is a headache a minute…
