A new video update! Hooray!
I forgot to mention that the opening and ending subtitles will now be ON by default. Someone on GBAtemp brought up the point that people who want to see the translation might be missing out on the first line and we felt that was a good point. This is a translation project, so the last thing we want to do is make people miss part of the translation. If you don’t want to see the subtitles, of course, you only need press the Select button. Holding Select before the video starts will prevent the subtitles from appearing at all. So everybody wins.
it’s not done yet so no one knows.
It’s good that another update is made but still no release… I know everything must be well made but in other hand making end-users wait ages is not very good
But… I will play it after You will finish translate and thank You many times for sure
Finally many hours of Tales’ing on my favourite handheld console ^_^
Best regards for whole team

Well, although I do partake in the dropping of sweets into my ears, I was referring to the caramel-like wave* that you generate from your larynx and spew out of your mouth, while making subtle movements with your lips and tongue in order to form noises that are able to be deciphered by the human brain.
*Travelling Wave, not Light Wave
you work very hard! take a nap ^^
IMO take as long as u need u have already taken this long it would be a disapointment for u to rush things in the end u will get the praise u rightly deserve on release
im looking forward to it
this game will work for r4?
Yes, of course it will. It’s the only way to play it on a real DS as far as I know
Your voice got deeper.
Awesome! Keep going guys! Sounds like you’re almost there.
The tales series are the best. With the exception of ToS2. That one was a major dissapointment.
>: I love ToS2. Playing ToV right now. Kinda great. But I still like ToS 2 more. (Part one was kinda boring after ~30 hours playing.. so I stopped…)
I am very happy for you guys about to finish off this project, i’ve been waiting for almost 2 years for this english translation, as so for those other tales of ____ fans
keep going, but when do you want, please take a nap ^^
Waiting for March…. @_@)
Great work, guys. Keep it up.
Although I know you guys already know this, but, a lot of people are counting on you and supporting you guys! Translation projects like this are the only way we can enjoy the other Tales of ____ games that were not release outside Japan. ^___^

Davvero non so come ringraziarvi.

WOO!! new update! Just wanted to say that it looks like its coming along well. Probably done anytime soon. Hopefully it comes out in February cos thats when my birthday is.
yours will be a good birthday xD
I’m sure you guys are tired of posts like:
“OMG! I can’t wait to play this!”
or
“Great job! You’re almost there, thank you!”
but they are just so true. Godspeed for this project, my friends.
Also, a question: Is Phantasian Productions working on ToD:DC while you work on this, and then you join them, or is ToD:DC on hold until both of your groups finish their current projects?
ToD is on hold until they finish up ToP and we finish up ToI. I know once I finish ToI, I’ll be pouring my efforts back into ToD.
@throughhim413
i wonder… With PP you’re working on ToD2 or ToD:DC ?
A DS game of the series “Tales of” I liked was Tales of the Tempest for DS also. (I stopped playing just because it is in Japanese T_T)
I think Tales of Hearts in this translation project also …
@StorMyu: I’m working on ToD:DC with them.
@Diego: Tales of the Tempest isn’t good. I think it’s actually worse if you understand it…
bad for history?
In fact, I liked him at the time that I met him ( some years ago ), as I do not know Japanese, I played it until I get used to the gameplay and I liked it …
But if it’s bad even then not play anymore =)
Waiting for ToI =) (sorry if I’m missing something, I am Brazilian and I am learning English =P)
Good luck!
Oh, this is my first “Tales of” that i will try, so someone know if there is a Tales of for pc? or another for DS? (in english not jap please).
Waiting for answer =P
I really appreciate what you are doing Mr. Translator, but it would be good if you take some rest too, I never knew there was a Translation project on ToI going on, so i’ll just post this and pretend nothing ever happened because if I start keeping track I’ll be wasting alot of time, University life is already too annoying, anyways;
Good Luck in the Translation,
Hope to get my hands on this game soon enough when its done.
Take care man.
@Aigis – Well, there isn’t much for the DS unless you wanna play tales of phantasia GBA port. It’s a really cool game which I cleared like 3 times ‘coz it was just so fun!
Other than that, can’t think of any other english tales games…
@Rei – Understood thanks ^^
@Aigis:
There are three Tales of for the PS1, two of those were released in English, the other one was translated by throughhim and you can find the patch in the top of this same page.
You can play those on your PS1 or PC with the according emulator.
There’s always emulators, Aigis x3
Gamecube and PS2 emulation is almost perfect ( believe me, I’m playing Abyss as we speak )
Or, of course, you can buy a PSP and play ToP + ToD + ToE + TotW:RM + TotW1 + TotW2.
Rei said ToP is an awesome game, but I have to disagree, when compared with any other Tales of game ( except Tales of Tempest … urgh ), Tales of Phantasia is a mediocre game at its best. But if you never played it, try it now, just be sure to play the best version, the PS1 ver.
PS2 emulation is almost perfect? Far from it. Moving on…
Personally, I like ToP the best of the PSX Tales games. The PSX remake improved on ToD PSX and it had something special that ToE didn’t quite live up to in my mind. Likewise, I found the game more fun to play than Radiant Mythology and Tales of Legendia. For me, ToP stacks up pretty well against most of the series. I put it right in the middle of the pack. It’s certainly not on the level of something like the Tales of Destiny remake, but it’s not in the pile with Tales of the Tempest either.
Yeah, but remember that ToP being the first game, have the most.. “primitive” battle system of the entire series
@Aigis
is not that hard to play tales game without knowing the language, they´re pretty “straigthforward” (Hearts even has a pointer on the map so you always know where to go to procced with the story,it may be hard at the start but becomes easier very soon)
—–
and thanks for doing this project to the end, even if I have played the game in japanese a couple of times (3 playthroughs…), I´m waiting to play this translation,though it seems more like a remake of the game for the amount of things you´re adding and editing and to continue with “fans over the world” here is one from Chile, anyway, thanks for all the hard work!
We’re talking about the PSX version, so it doesn’t have the most primitive battle system. The PSX version was made after the original ToP and after ToD PSX.
“is not that hard to play tales game without knowing the language, they´re pretty “straigthforward””
I don’t get how people can just play through an RPG without knowing what’s going on. Isn’t the story the main part of the game?
Weird…
Funny, I was thinking the same thing.
Hm… so am I the first representative of the Netherlands then?
If Nintendo were to read this, ‘d you reckon they’d finally translate it?
Well, I tried PCSX2 one of the newest betas, and have to say that PS2 emulation is playable.
I’m not saying it’s perfect, but it’s definetly playable. Of course some games don’t work at all, and some have huge glitches, but most of the games I tested worked pretty well.
I said “almost perfect”, when referring to Tales of games
It also depends on the computer you are using, tho.
@throughhim413:
Never played ToD:DC looks great but with my newbie pc i only import PSP Tales games, Rebirth’s one of my favorite !
I remember your April joke !!
i just took the time to find out about this and found this work, Im happy to see you guys working on this work of art and you gusy just gave me a spark of hope : D <-words/sentences cannot express my gratitude XD
So how many hours estimated will the main story take to beat?
Thanks Guys for the work! Many many players are waiting and hoping for your translation, you are great!
Hm… I really like the effort you put into this, and I love how you keep in contact with your fans. Keep it up!
i have a lot of emulator LOL! oh ps2 emulator isnt very perfect, sometimes crash or graphic is terrible and sometimes he became very very very slow! but i fix these problems some days ago and now i have just one problem: sometimes he became a bit slow, oh i have this emulator too: epsxe (psx) pcsx2 (ps2) nosgba (gba\nds) virtual boy advance (gba) and other, but i prefer play to original console, so i use emulator just in drammatic case ^^
Sorry for my english i’m italian ^^
